Be good

Doing good does not always feel good. I remember when I was young in Sunday School reading - the words, "if someone asks you to go one mile, go two. If someone sues you for your coat, give them your cloak too. If someone slaps you on one cheek, offer them the other one." It really didn't make a lot of sense to me then.

I think once you become a parent you begin to understand it a little. You are willing to sacrifice some of the things that you want in order to meet the needs of your kids. It doesn't feel, good... but it's real good.

Here's the thing. Whether people believe in God or not, he gave His son so everyone would have the chance to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and accept salvation. There are people who are hurting and sometimes, like spoiled kids - they act out. Showing kindness to them shows the kindness of our Savior. It honestly won't make sense to them, and honestly, it doesn't make sense to me sometimes either... but doing good, doing the right thing is a good thing.

10 For the Scriptures say,
“If you want to enjoy life
    and see many happy days,
keep your tongue from speaking evil
and your lips from telling lies.
11 Turn away from evil and do good.
Search for peace, and work to maintain it.
12 The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right,
and his ears are open to their prayers.
But the Lord turns his face
against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:10-12
